Of the 36 circuits that have hosted rounds of the championship, eleven have been temporary street or airfield circuits with five still in use as of the 2025 season .

Prior to World War II, attempts were made to use Albert Park for motor racing. The first was in 1934 but failed due to opposition, and a second attempt for a motorcycle race in 1937 similarly failed. Finally in 1953 the Light Car Club of Australia were able to secure use of the circuit for that year's Australian Grand Prix. [11]

Calder Park Raceway is a motor racing circuit in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.The complex includes a dragstrip, a road circuit with several possible configurations, and the "Thunderdome", a high-speed banked oval equipped to race either clockwise (for right-hand-drive cars) or anti-clockwise (for left-hand-drive cars such as NASCAR).
