It was established in 1992 and is published monthly by North-Holland, an imprint of Elsevier.
Originally a part of the Journal of Applied Physics, Applied Physics Reviews began being published independently in January 2014 with volume numbering restarting at 1. From 2014 to 2019 the editorial board was managed by the editors-in-chief John M. Poate ( Colorado School of Mines ) and Bill R. Appleton ( University of Florida ).
