The film chronicles a legal-precedent setting court case that outlawed the kidnapping of child brides (ጠለፈ tʼelefa) in Ethiopia.It tells the story of a 14-year-old girl, Hirut Assefa (based on Aberash Bekele), who is kidnapped on her way home from school and subsequently grabs a rifle and tries to escape, but ends up shooting her would-be husband.

[1] It was co-founded by three Ethiopian entrepreneurs in combination with Moby Media Group and was officially launched on April 4, 2016. [2] Kana TV produces voice-over translation by dubbing foreign content to Amharic.
Running Against the Wind (Amharic: የነፋሱ ፍልሚያ, romanized: yenefasu filimīya) is a 2019 Ethiopian drama film directed by Jan Philipp Weyl. It was selected as the Ethiopian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. [1] [2]
