In 1931, Allen partnered with Bill Edmonds, a salesman, and formed the Allen Edmonds Corporation. Andrew Higgins was born on 28 August 1886 in Columbus, Nebraska, the youngest child of John Gonegle Higgins and Annie Long (O'Conor) Higgins.
