On January 13, 1995, the station returned to music programming as "Flava 1580", with an all hip-hop music/go-go format. [4] The format was unsuccessful, and ultimately evolved to Urban Gospel in November 1996 as "Heaven 1580". WPGC dropped the gospel format on October 7, 2008, and began simulcasting WPGC-FM's rhythmic contemporary sound.
