James Quigley was born on October 15, 1854, in Oshawa, Canada West (now the Province of Ontario). He was the son of James and Mary Lacey Quigley, whom immigrated to Canada around 1849 from Ireland . The family moved to the United States in 1856, settling in Lima, New York . [ 2 ]
