Where subtitle punctuation is unclear (e.g., because the subtitle is given on a separate line on the cover or a poster), use a colon and a space, not a dash, comma, or other punctuation, to separate the title elements. If there are two subtitles, a dash can be used between the second and third elements.

A more modern usage is to simply separate the subtitle by punctuation, making the subtitle more of a continuation or sub-element of the title proper. In library cataloging and in bibliography, the subtitle does not include an alternative title, which is defined as part of the title proper: e.g.,

The title of an album or individual disc recording or tape recording or CD is put into italics, but individual songs from the media are placed within quotation marks.
In most cases, no specific section on characters is needed. However, if a finely crafted plot summary cannot capture this aspect of a story, a Characters section may be warranted. Sometimes this will be a bullet-point list of the principal characters, with a sentence or two about each. In other cases, this may take the form of regular prose.
