The Roller Derby Hall of Fame, also known as the National Roller Derby Hall of Fame, was founded in 1952, [1] by the editors of the Roller Derby News paper. Johnny Rosasco and Josephine "Ma" Bogash were the first two skaters to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. [ 1 ]
The NRDL was established in 1995 by Lou Sanchez, Sr. Sanchez is a former Roller Games skater known for his underhanded, violent tactics [citation needed] while playing for the Texas Outlaws in the 1960s and 1970s. After retiring from skating, he managed various teams in different roller derby revivals.
