    As mentioned on the earwax talk page, this doesn't appear to be a reliable source, and it's also contradicted by another about.com article: "Dr. C. D. Fleet, a physician from Lynchburg, Virginia, invented Chapstick or lip balm in the early 1880s." Even if some people used earwax on their lips, it'd be a stretch to call it "lip balm".
