The British Columbia Derby is a Canadian Thoroughbred horse race run annually in September at Hastings Racecourse (formerly Exhibition Park) in Vancouver, British Columbia. Established in 2023, the British Columbia Derby is the third and final jewel of the Western Canadian Triple Crown .
In 2012, Hastings Racecourse made international headlines when little-known Mexican-born jockey Mario Gutierrez (who had emigrated to Canada in 2006 and begun riding at Hastings, winning the track's riding titles in 2007 and 2008), won the Santa Anita Derby, the Kentucky Derby, and the Preakness Stakes aboard I'll Have Another.

In 2022 the race sponsor and naming rights changed from the Windsor Park Stud to the Arrowfield Stud. [1] the Stoney Bridge Stakes from 2004 to 2008. [2] the Glenmorgan Generous Stakes, in 2003, when it was raced at Otaki.
When the group grading system was introduced in New Zealand in the 1978/79 season the Challenge Stakes was given group 3 status. [2] In 1985 the race was moved from autumn to spring and was downgraded to listed status for a time, it would regain its group status in the 1991/92 racing season. It was renamed the Tarzino Trophy in 2017.
