Shepherd of the Hills State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area covering 1,011 acres (409 ha) in Taney County, Missouri. The state park is closed pending public input on future uses of the land. [2] [3] It was one of three new parks announced by Governor Jay Nixon in December 2016. [4]
The park was created by an Act of Congress in 1964 to protect the Current and Jacks Fork rivers, and it was formally dedicated in 1971.
