Byakuya Kuchiki (朽木 白哉, Kuchiki Byakuya) is a fictional character in the anime and manga series Bleach created by Tite Kubo. He is the captain of the Sixth Division for Gotei 13 and Rukia's brother.

Byakuya Kuchiki and Kenpachi Zaraki save Ichigo, having cut one of Yammy's legs off. Mayuri arrives and tells everyone that he has managed to analyze the Garganta and offers to send Ichigo back to Karakura Town through it. Byakuya reminds Ichigo that his duty is supposed to be protecting Karakura Town, not fighting at Hueco Mundo.

Ginrei Kuchiki was the former captain of Squad Six [16] and head of the Kuchiki Clan, one of the four great noble families of the Soul Society. He is the grandfather of Byakuya and the father-in-law of Koga Kuchiki. Ginrei is voiced by Kinryū Arimoto in the Japanese version of the anime and JB Blanc in the English dub.
