The Career Center is a high school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.It offers an extension to the regular high school program. Classes offered include Advanced Placement courses, career, technical education (CTE) courses, English, and classes too small to be held at the regular high schools in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools program, such as Japanese and Chinese.

WS/FCS was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Forsyth County School System and the Winston-Salem School System. [1] WS/FCS is now the fourth largest school system in North Carolina, and it is the 81st largest in the United States. [2] WS/FCS is also the most diverse school district in North Carolina.
Vernon Malone College and Career Academy operates on a modified-traditional calendar. [17] Students begin school at 7:25 AM and end at 2:18 PM. Teacher Preparation was eliminated before the 2015–2016 school year. CATA is a part of Union County Public Schools, on Brewer Drive. The school was originally a career center, but now is a part of the public school system. The school was founded as a high school for grades 9–12 in 2006, with the first graduating class in 2009.
