Fred's Inc. (stylized in all caps) was a retail store chain headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, operating in 15 states in the southeastern United States. As of June, 2019 Fred's operated 396 locations, of which 155 were pharmacies, and the remainder discount general merchandise stores.
It is located in the suburb of Germantown in eastern Memphis, Tennessee, United States, and it includes national specialty shops and restaurants. [2] About 70% of tenants are unique to the Memphis market. [3] [4] Crumbl Cookies, Evereve, and Fabletics joined the center in 2022.
By the early 2000s, the mall had begun to lose tenants due to shifting demographics and a number of vacant big-box stores in the area. The Dillard's store closed in early 2006. In 2021, CubeSmart replaced the former Sears space. CubeSmart closed in mid to late 2022 and was replaced by Extra Space Storage which is still open as of November 2024. [5]
