You don't really need to buy any truck in the beginning of the game, in my opinion it's better to save up money for trucks later, but some trucks that are good for beginners are the International Loadstar 1700, the Azov 64131, the Voron-AE 4380 and the Tayga 6436 which you can find early on in Taymyr. 2. All the 5 brands are similarly reliable and capable these days, with slight differences I’ll describe. F150: The 2.7 is fuel efficient, the 3.5 is the best tow motor in the segment, and the 5.0 is reliable. Ram: The 5.7 Hemi is the definition of fine: average power, reliability, capability, capacity, mpg. The EcoDiesel has been plagued with ...
I ask because I'd like to buy a truck to occasionally haul furniture, appliances, and maybe even tow a car. That said, for the most part, I'd like to have a vintage (think mid 60's to mid 80's) truck to cruise with and enjoy for the experience of owning a vintage vehicle.

Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Tacoma. I am looking to get a low to mid range model with only the basics and optional 4wd and larger engine with towing. Extended cab and long bed. Price goal is mid 30s. They all look fairly comparable, towing, bed capacity, hp/torque etc.
The Cascadia for me, there's a reason why it's no 1 IRL. Great all round truck with a strong engine and gearbox. I like the VNL but hate the sound, it makes it sound so slow and struggling all the time because there's no audible change in RPM sound. The HX520 and FL CXL are great, the latter is the best classic truck for me.
Irregular loads: Western Star 49x, followed very closely by the International 9900i. Regular loads: Freightliner Cascadia, followed closely by Volvo VNL and International LT. Mack Anthem, International Lonestar, Peterbilt 579 and Kenworth T680 only get used when I feel like, but are rarely my daily driver.
With 53 trucks and counting, I decided to make a set of filters to quickly filter through to find the right truck for a given situation. I know the spreadsheet is really big, but use the filters at the top, and the list of 53 trucks will be quickly reduced down to just the trucks that meet ALL of your requirements.
Caterpillar 745C - Annoying steering but will definitely get you through the mud. Good recovery truck. ANK MK38 - Poor range and cargo options but good for mud recoveries. It was really hard to pick 10 trucks. The Bandit didn't quite make the list but I find it makes a good recovery truck for spilled cargo.
If ypu want bling-bling: Volvo, Scania, Renault T, DAF XF. If you want a large front window: MAN, Renault Magnum. If you want to drive on slippery roads: Renault, DAF 2021, Mercedes. Offroad (in Promods or with any "no-fences" mod in singleplayer): Mercedes, Scania R. Reply.
