New England Highway is an 883-kilometre (549 mi) long [1] highway in Australia running from Yarraman, north of Toowoomba, Queensland, at its northern end to Hexham at Newcastle, New South Wales, at its southern end.
The New England Highway runs from Glengallan to Warwick concurrent with the Cunningham Highway. State-controlled roads that intersect with that section of road are not included in this article. The New England Highway does not intersect with Stanthorpe–Texas Road, but traffic can transition between them via Pancor Road.

Gwydir Highway today, as part of Highway 12, still retains this declaration.

[1] The system includes but is not limited to the Trans-Canada Highway, [1] and currently consists of 38,098 kilometres (23,673 mi) of roadway designated under one of three classes: Core Routes, Feeder Routes, and Northern and Remote Routes.
The highway is named in honour of the explorer and botanist Allan Cunningham who followed a route close to where the modern-day highway runs. In 1828 after discovering the route Cunningham sent a report to Governor Ralph Darling emphasising the economic benefits that a link between the coast and pastoral lands of the Darling Downs would provide.
