The Toronto Optimists were the older corps, formed in 1958 from the remnants of the Opti-Corps. The name came from their sponsorship by the Toronto Optimist Club. The Toronto Optimists were immediately successful, winning eleven consecutive championships for the Canadian Drum and Bugle Corps Association between 1958 and 1968. [60]
