Cravath Lake was created in the mid-1850s at the intersection point of Whitewater Creek and Spring Brook to power a gristmill that was built upon the creek. Whitewater Lake, located in Walworth County, is an extension of the Kettle Moraine's Southern Unit and is part of the southernmost edge of its territory.This 625 acre lake [4] is located in the country side near Whitewater, Wisconsin, and has several public access points for boat launching and fishing. [4]
There are five community parks in Whitewater: Cravath Lakefront Park, Moraine View Park, Starin Park, Trippe Lake Park, and Whitewater Creek Nature Area. Effigy Mounds Preserve is an archeological park. [20] An aquatic and fitness center is located in Whitewater. [21]
The Pike Lake Unit is on the eastern side of 446-acre (1.80 km 2) Pike Lake. It is located on state Highway 60 in between Slinger and Hartford. The park offers camping, hiking, biking and swimming, and has an observation tower overlooking the park and lake.
Nearby the Campground is Heart Prairie Church, see above. Natureland Park, a Walworth County park, is at the southwest corner of the lake, at the lake inlet, with the springs, a picnic area, pavilion, cabin, and hiking. [8] The Whitewater Lions Club is west of Scenic Ridge. [9]
