The Pakistan Penal Code (Urdu: مجموعہ تعزیرات پاکستان; Majmū'ah-yi ta'zīrāt-i Pākistān), abbreviated as PPC, is a penal code for all offences charged in Pakistan. It was originally prepared by Lord Macaulay with a great consultation in 1860 on behalf of the Government of British India as the Indian Penal Code.

Each town and city now has a court of additional district and sessions judge, which possesses equal authority over its jurisdiction. When it is hearing criminal cases it is called sessions court and when it is hearing civil cases it becomes a district court. Executive matters are brought before the relevant district and sessions judge.
The Supreme Court (Practice and Procedure) Bill 2023 was approved by the Parliament of Pakistan on 10 April 2023. The proposed law suggests that a panel formed by a Committee consisting of the most senior judges, led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan , will handle and conclude all cases, appeals, or issues presented before the Supreme Court .
