The National Register is a federal register for buildings, structures, and sites of historic significance. This is intended to be a complete list of the properties and districts in Columbus. There are 360 properties and districts listed on the National Register in Franklin County, including 3 National Historic Landmarks.
The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and the Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982; the district boundaries differ between the two entries. [1] [2] The Snowden-Gray House, a High Victorian-style two-and-a-half-story mansion with a cupola, built in 1852, is salient in the district.

Historical marker ()The Snowden-Gray mansion is located on East Town Street in Downtown Columbus, close to Topiary Park. [1] The surrounding Town-Franklin neighborhood is considered the city's first suburb, first subdivided in the 1840s, with early fashionable residences constructed in the 1850s, and its lots filling in during the subsequent prosperous decades. [2]
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and Columbus Register of Historic Properties in 1982. The brick house was built c. 1885. The building was home to Alexander W. Krumm, the Columbus City Solicitor from 1878 to 1883. The property is also one of few remaining late 19th century houses on South High Street. [1] [2]
The house stands alone among 1950s ranch, Cape Cod, and split-level houses; it was noted by the Columbus Dispatch as a house more typical of Victorian Village. It is on a 2-acre (0.81 ha) plot by the Olentangy River and on the western end of Weisheimer Road, named for the original owner.
