The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Gang Dong-won and Lee Jung-hyun. Peninsula was chosen to premiere in the 2020 Cannes Film Festival , which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , and simply released theatrically in South Korea on 15 July 2020, while also being shown at the 25th Busan International Film Festival on 21 October 2020.
