South Kitsap School District No. 402 is the second largest public school district in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. It serves the city of Port Orchard, a portion of the city of Bremerton and the southern area of the county (360 square miles). The district is the largest employer in Port Orchard. [2]
South Kitsap High School was built in 1921. An addition was built in 1962, with modernization projects in 1978 and 1980. The 337,392 square foot (31,300 m²) building is located on a 51.46 acre site.

In the 2020–2021 academic year its student enrollment was 8,000, [1] making it the 22nd largest school district in the state. [2] The district operates an early childhood center, twelve elementary schools, three middle schools and two 9–12 high schools. In addition to traditional schools, CCSD also operates four alternative schools.
