Here, PA 403 turns northwest to form a concurrency with PA 553 on an unnamed road, heading into Cherryhill Township and turning to the west as it passes through farmland and woodland with some homes. PA 403 splits from PA 553 by heading north-northwest, passing through more rural areas as it comes to a junction with the southern terminus of PA 580.
Pennsylvania Route 666 (PA 666) is an east–west state route located in northwest Pennsylvania. The western terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 62 (US 62) in the Hickory Township municipality of East Hickory, and its eastern terminus is at US 6 in the hamlet of Sheffield .
The route curves northwest and comes to the community of Hickory Hill, where it turns north onto Hickory Hill Road. PA 472 continues northwest into East Nottingham Township and passes through rural land with mixed residential subdivisions. In 1927, PA 83 was designated to run from US 30/PA 1 in Devon northwest to US 120/PA 42 (now PA 61) near Schuylkill Haven. The route headed north from Devon to Valley Forge on Waterloo Road, Devon State Road, Valley Forge Road, and Valley Creek Road. From Valley Forge, PA 83 continued northwest concurrent with PA 23 through Phoenixville.
North of Brookville, PA 36 runs mostly on a northern course. In the northwestern sections of the county, the road intersects PA 949 in Sigel and PA 899 near Clear Creek State Park. PA 36 exits the county running west along the southern tips of the Clarion River in Cook Forest State Park.
