Hlubek founded the band Molly Hatchet in 1971 on the heels of his first band ('Mind Garden') with longtime friend/bassist Tim Lindsey. Front man/vocalist Danny Joe Brown joined in 1974, plus guitarist Duane Roland, guitarist Steve Holland, bassist Banner Thomas also joined in 1974, and drummer Bruce Crump joined in 1976.
Brown left Molly Hatchet in 1980 because of chronic diabetes and pancreatic problems, but soon started his own band, The Danny Joe Brown Band, which released a single studio album in 1981. [3] He rejoined Molly Hatchet in 1982 only to leave again after a massive stroke in 1995 while driving to his brother's house.
Skinny Molly is an American southern rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, United States. The band was formed in 2004 by guitarist/vocalist Mike Estes (guitar player for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blackfoot) , Dave Hlubek (guitarist and founding member of Molly Hatchet ) and drummer Kurt Pietro.
He would later rejoin other members of Molly Hatchet in Southern Rock Allstars and Gator Country. Brown rejoined the band in late 1982 after the departure of Farrar and B. B. Borden. After leaving Molly Hatchet, Farrar played in a band called Predator for six years. Then he was the lead singer of the band Section 8.
