Joy Ride Turbo is a kart racing game similar to the Mario Kart series. The game is controlled using the Xbox 360 controller, unlike its predecessor, Kinect Joy Ride, which utilized the Kinect peripheral. The player's avatar is used as the race driver, whilst computer-controlled characters have system generated avatars that are created randomly.

Auto racing is a racing sport where automobiles are raced through a course. The objective is usually to cover a fixed distance in the least amount of time (e.g. Indianapolis 500). In some cases, this is reversed so that the objective is to cover the greatest distance in a fixed amount of time (e.g. 24 Hours of Le Mans).
Playing as a person's Avatar, the game is controlled by the player holding their arms out as if they are grabbing an invisible steering wheel, and turning them in such a manner to steer. Pushing hips forward allows the player to drift, while pulling the 'wheel' towards the player and then pushing forward produces a chargeable turbo boost.

ESPN SpeedWorld (formerly Auto Racing '79–'86) is a former television series broadcast on ESPN from 1979 to 2006. The program that was based primarily based around NASCAR, CART, IMSA, Formula One, NHRA, and IHRA. The theme music is based on the piano interlude from "18th Avenue (Kansas City Nightmare)" by Cat Stevens.
