I have built many infinity mirrors, I found the window film not that effective and it always bubbled over time. For the highest-quality infinity effect I use glass two-way mirror, but have found only one type. Brand name is MirrorPane in the US. It is more expensive, but works very well and is thick.
Important to note: it's a two-way mirror. Like the classic interrogation room trope, where it's a mirror on one side and you can look through the other. Instead of a pane of glass behind the lights providing the return reflection to the mirror, you can use another mirror to amplify the effect, but you wouldn't see the inside of the computer.
Now for the main party piece: the infinity mirror. This thing became a big pain to design, and I won’t do it again in a hurry. The infinity effect is achieved with an LED strip sandwiched between an opaque acrylic mirror and a light-transmitting acrylic mirror. The LED’s are Wi-Fi controlled by an ESP8266 on a simple breakout PCB I designed.
A place to find infinity mirrors of all kinds. You can find how to videos or just insperation for a little infinity. Since it is a small subreddit i use it at the moment for ideas that i would love to make myself or pictures i love however you are free to post as much infinity as you like.
Wouldn’t a regular mirror technically be a “one-way mirror” considering it only works one way? Like I get calling it a “two-way mirror” because you can look at either side, but I also understand why it could be called a “one-way mirror” because you can see thru it one way, and reflection on the other side.
