If you followed shadows and looked qt the sun in the sky it always ran east to west through the south. But the ingame paper maps and thereby all wiki maps adopted the south side up orientation. Since the compass got added it became more appare,t that the paper maps were upside down / South side up.

Even despite the realism required, maps like interchange, reserve, streets, and labs feel COMPLETELY different compared to woods, customs, lighthouse, and shoreline. The map design in this game is arguably one of the best aspects except for PMC spawns which are still a little rough on certain maps.

Recently i made some callout maps for my group and its been working out very nice for us, a game changer for me at least. I wanted to return something to community and translated all the maps i made and put them here for you beautiful rats to use if you choose so.

You can use Tarkov Monitor from tarkov.dev team in conjunction with automatic quest tracking on tarkovtracker.io and when you hit PrtSc key get you position automatically shown on eg. Woods interactive map tarkov.dev/map/woods alongside quest objectives and all other info (like loot, spawn points, danger zones ecc.) 👍
Click the target icon in the bottom right of the map (only works on desktop). It also works on any of the available maps too (e.g. Shoreline) It allows you to select a location and see the distances in 50m increments around you. There's also a distance measurement tool beside it too for measuring specific point-to-point spots.
When tarkov was in it's alpha state, i started making maps on the floor of my living room with paper and pen. It was before ingame maps existed. Once i saw that the community was interested, i started modeling the maps in 3D. I released them here on reddit and recieved great praise from you guys. I made Shoreline first, and later Customs.
Woods is probably fixed now now based on a community verified map provided by u/Tower299, that was only a 10% difference however, we must keep in mind that a flat map will not provide accurate result when extreme elevations are taken into account, such as in your case, shooting from the highest point a player can get to, to literal sea level :P Also keep in mind that Tarkov's very own zero ...
add: saw allready a lot of selfmade tarkov maps, but these ones are looking better then the original ones . if i could, i would give you all my 5 upvotes for today, again well done sir Edited January 24, 2018 by PIK
