The Kent State University College of Public Health was established in 2009. It is one of only two colleges of public health in Ohio, and it is the first school in the state to offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Its goal is to train students to meet the current and projected shortage of public health professionals across the nation.
In October 2009, the Council on Education for Public Health accepted CUNY's application to be reviewed for transforming its accredited programs in public health into a single school of public health.
