The Wyoming Content and Performance Standards serve several purposes. They articulate a set of expectations for what all Wyoming students should know and be able to do, enabling them to be prepared for college and career success and to live a life that contributes to the global community.
The Water Quality Division works to keep Wyoming’s water clean by monitoring and protecting surface- and groundwater in the state. This section of the DEQ website contains overviews and information regarding all of the WQD’s programs.
The Wyoming Department of Education is led by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, which is one of five statewide elected officials in Wyoming. Wyoming has regulated the construction of water and wastewater facilities since June 8, 1921. The Department of Health, Sanitary Engineering Service administered water and sewer regulations until it was transferred to the newly formed Department of Environmental Quality in 1973.
