Importantly, our TMC colleagues have discovered that anyone can get a Green EZ-Pass (if they have an eligible vehicle, of course), regardless of state of residency: GREEN EZ Pass - Page 2 The discounted toll is only on Port Authority of NY/NJ crossings, but these are the Big Boys of tolls traveling along the I-95 corridor.
The New York State E-ZPass program has a discount "Green Plan" for certain hybrid and electric vehicles. Currently, all Tesla models except for the Y
I was successful in getting a NY Green Pass for my model Y. In NY, you need to mail (yes, snail-mail) an application together with a copy of the registration. In my accompanying letter I mentioned that although the site did not list the model Y, the closest model listed there was the model 3. A few weeks later I received my tag.
Hi, I tried searching for "EZ Pass" with limited success. I picked up my MS about a month ago, absolutely love the car! One not so minor issue is that I have yet to figure out a good place to put a EZ pass tag. I got my NY EZ-Pass when I lived in NY and worked in NJ; I believe NJ did not have them yet. NY does not charge a monthly fee for the pass and I believe NJ does, but I have not checked. NY does not seem to care that my address is now NJ and has been for about 36 years!
I asked the DS when I got my cars few weeks ago where I can place the E-ZPass since the dark shade area on the wind shield is gone. He told me that the E-ZPass issue has been resolved. We should be able to put the E-ZPass right next to the 3 cameras. I finally got a chance to try it today...
