Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary is a 15-acre bird sanctuary and nature preserve in Lincoln Park within Uptown, Chicago. A total of nearly 1000 vascular plant species, 245 bird species, 33 mammal species, 63 fish species, and 44 reptile and amphibian species have been documented on the refuge.
Even though many birds can change their stopover sites, birds such as swans and waders depend on wetland stopover sites to 'refuel' on migration.
