Palmerston Airport, formerly TC LID: CPR3, was a lightly used registered aerodrome, located 3 nautical miles (5.6 km; 3.5 mi) east of Palmerston, Ontario, Canada. It has two runways, of 2,200 ft × 75 ft (671 m × 23 m) and 3,000 ft × 75 ft (914 m × 23 m) respectively.
It is located in the suburb of Milson, on the outskirts of Palmerston North, New Zealand, approximately 5.5 km (3.4ml) NE from the central business district of Palmerston North. The airport is 100% owned by the Palmerston North City Council and covers an area of 208ha. [3]
An airport was established at Milson in 1936, which is now Palmerston North Airport. From 1938, the First Labour government (1935–1949) initiated state housing programmes in West End (Savage Crescent precinct) and Roslyn. Hoffman Continuous Kiln on Featherston Street. In 1941, the Manawatū River flooded again, having last flooded in 1902.
State Highway 85 (SH 85) is a South Island state highway in New Zealand, servicing the Maniototo Plains and the North and Central Otago regions of the South Island between the major settlements of Alexandra and Palmerston. It is wholly two lane and passes through some of the most extreme climatic regions in New Zealand.
From Hāwera the highway follows the coast of the South Taranaki Bight south-eastwards to Patea and Whanganui before leaving the coast and heading to Bulls. Here, SH 1 from the north intersects with SH 3, and the two highways are concurrent for the next 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) to Sanson where SH 1 diverges to the south.
