Military academy for the US Air Force and US Space Force. It is both a military organization and a university, much of which is set up like most other Air Force bases, but the Superintendent , Commandant, Dean of Faculty and cadet wing are set up like a civilian university.
Students at these academies are organized as cadets, and graduate with appropriate licenses from the U.S. Coast Guard and/or the U.S. Merchant Marine.While not immediately offered a commission as an officer within a service, cadets do have the opportunity to participate in commissioning programs like the Strategic Sealift Officer Program (Navy) and Maritime Academy Graduate (Coast Guard).

The Merchant Marine Academy requires an applicant to submit part 1 of the 3 part application prior to receiving a nomination.
