In 2020 Redwood Park was nominated for Heritage Listing by Scot McPhie. [4] The Toowoomba Regional Council opposed the listing. [5] In March 2021 the Queensland Government announced all of Redwood Park would not be heritage listed, but Eagles Nest Camp, a depression era itinerant workers camp located within Redwood, would be Heritage listed [6]
Cabarlah is approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of the Toowoomba city centre and has an area of approximately 20 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi). It is situated on the Great Dividing Range with views to the east of the Lockyer Valley through to Brisbane and to the west across the Darling Downs.
