The UCI Track Cycling World Championships – Men's 1 km Time Trial is the world championship in the track cycling 1 kilometre time trial event for men, held annually at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships. The event is widely known simply as 'the kilo', and until 2024 was ridden only by men.
Riders usually only get one attempt to set a time, and the winner of the event is simply the rider to post the quickest time. A fast time at the elite level is around 1 minute 5 seconds. The world record is 55.433 seconds (64.943 km/h), set by Jeffrey Hoogland in 2023 at the Aguascalientes Velodrome in Aguascalientes, Mexico. [1]

Originally, in 1975, the time trial event distance was 25 miles. It later changed to 40 km, and still later changed to the current distance of 32.3 kilometers (20.1 miles).
