New York State Route 268 (NY 268) is a state highway located in southwestern Delaware County, New York, in the United States. It runs from NY 97 in Hancock north over 10 miles (16 km) to a bridge over Cannonsville Reservoir near the former site of the hamlet of Rock Rift in Tompkins. There, it ends at a junction with NY 10.

Hancock is a city in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The population of Hancock was 4,501 at the 2020 census . The city is located within Houghton County , and is situated upon the Keweenaw Waterway , a channel of Lake Superior that cuts across the Keweenaw Peninsula .
Its first engine was the "Thomas F. Mason," a 32-ton 2-6-0 Mogul built by the Brooks Locomotive Works of Dunkirk, New York. [ 1 ] In 1905 the Quincy Mining Company bought the locomotives and rolling stock from the Q&TL and began operating the line directly, although the Q&TL remained the nominal owner of the track. [ 1 ]
