There are two districts and 10 individual properties listed on the National Register in the county. An additional property has been removed from the register.
The property was originally the home of Martin Varner, one of the Old Three Hundred and a veteran of the Texas Revolution. [3] His was the nineteenth land grant offered in Stephen F. Austin's colony and consisted of over 4,600 acres (1,900 ha). Varner built the property's first house, a log cabin, in 1824. [4]

[2] Brazoria County is included in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan statistical area. It is located in the Gulf Coast region of Texas.
