Coweta County / k aʊ ˈ iː t ə / is a county in the West Central region of the U.S. state of Georgia. It is part of Metro Atlanta. As of the 2020 census, the population was 146,158. [1] The county seat is Newnan. [2] Coweta County is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell metropolitan statistical area.

Grantville is located along the southern border of Coweta County. [5] U.S. Route 29 runs through the city, passing south of the center, while Interstate 85 passes through the eastern part of the city, crossing US 29 at Exit 35.
It is the second oldest high school in the county. East Coweta High School was founded on April 17, 1946 when the Coweta County School Board ordered that the Haralson, Raymond, Starr, and Senoia school operate East Coweta High School at Starr School for the ensuing year. This resulted from a series of consolidations begun years earlier.
