Across the street from the lake is the main Rock Dam camping ground. Various homes and cabins are often available for rent year round. Summer activities include camping, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, and off-road vehicle trails (four-wheelers, dirt bikes). Winter activities include ice fishing and snowmobiling.

The Black trail is 2.5 miles (4 km) long through the woods with rock exposure. The Brachipod trail is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long with fossils and nature views. The Clark Lake Spur trail is .7 miles (1.1 km) long. The Green trail is 1.8 miles (2.9 km) long. There are also the Red, Red Pine, Whitefish Creek Spur, and Yellow trails. [8]

An 1873 map of Clark County showed a "highway" reaching up from Neillsville through Weston to Greenwood and beyond. Though that road somewhat followed the course of modern Highway 73, it was a dirt wagon road. Another wagon road ran east from 73 along what is now County H for a mile, then wandered south, crossing Cawley Creek.
