Fiesta San Antonio (or simply Fiesta) has been since its 1891 inception an annual festival held in April in San Antonio, Texas. It is the city's signature event, along with some events held in the neighboring cities: Boerne , Schertz , Windcrest , Balcones Heights , and Alamo Heights ).
Also complicating the event was the Memorial Day weekend with graduations, proms, and FanimeCon. The convention for 2005 moved to Labor Day with adjustments made to the space required. Pacific Media Expo did not occur in 2017 due to schedule conflicts with NCAA football and the convention's traditional November date. [10]
The first PAX South was held in San Antonio, Texas, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center on January 23–25, 2015. It set a PAX record for highest attendance for an inaugural year. [7] But the event saw little growth in later years, and was cancelled in October 2021. [8]

On July 28, 2021, plans were announced for the park's 30th-anniversary celebration in 2022 which will begin with a New Year's Eve Kickoff Event. Plans include a retheme of the popular Poltergeist roller coaster, a Celebrate 30 Night Show, food festivals, displays, a mini-museum, and a new B&M Dive Coaster, Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger. [20]
