Anthony Bryan Hayward (born 21 May 1957) is a British businessman and former CEO of the oil and energy company BP.He replaced the Baron Browne of Madingley on 1 May 2007. His tenure ended on 1 October 2010 when he was replaced by Bob Dudley following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. [1]
He was named the 'Most Admired Leader' of the year by business magazine Management Today in 2014. [7] He received the 'President's award' from the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce in for his services to the region. He holds honorary degrees from Birmingham City University, [54] the University of Birmingham and Aston University. [55]

Bailey has held visiting posts at the University of Bologna, and in the US, Japan, France and the Czech Republic. Bailey took up his first post at the Birmingham Business School as a Research Associate working with George Harte and Roger Sugden, and was appointed a Professor in 2006 and Director of the Birmingham Business School in 2008.
