Khulna District (Bengali: খুলনা জেলা) is a district of Bangladesh. It is located in the Khulna Division , bordered on the north by Jessore District and Narail District , on the south by the Bay of Bengal , on the east by the Bagerhat District , and on the west by the Satkhira District . [ 3 ]
Khulna (Bengali: খুলনা, ) is the third-largest city in Bangladesh, after Dhaka and Chittagong. [4] It is the administrative centre of the Khulna District and the Khulna Division. It is the divisional centre of 10 districts of the division.
The Khulna division borders to India by the State of West Bengal to the west, the Rajshahi Division to the north, the Dhaka division and the Barisal division to the east, and has a coastline on the Bay of Bengal to the south.
