It remained in the Weis family into the 1930s when it was converted into apartments. It has subsequently been converted into a bed and breakfast. Gen. William A. Mills House is a historic home located at Mount Morris in Livingston County, New York. Constructed in 1838, the Mills Homestead was the last home of Gen. William Augustus Mills (1777–1844), who was the founder and first permanent white settler of Mount Morris.
Many consider the Garth Mansion one of the finest examples of this style of architecture. The Garth Woodside Mansion is currently a Bed and Breakfast and restaurant. [2] [3] Approx 85-90% of the furnishings on the second floor are the original pieces used to furnish the home when the mansion's construction was completed in 1871.
The new owners were to complete the renovations on the house by the year 2000. Plans were to turn the home into a bed and breakfast and public events space. [2] Numerous renovations were completed on the house, but work stopped in 2003 and the project was not completed. The city sued the homeowner for breach of contract in 2005.
