The city hosts three major festivals: the Kabankalan Sinulog every third Sunday of January (celebrated together with Cebu City), Udyakan sa Kabankalan and the Charter Anniversary. Kabankalan is also known for its Mag-aso Falls and the Balicaocao Resort. Also located in the city is the main campus of the Central Philippines State University (CPSU).

Kabankalan received its first parish priest in 1848. A chapel was built in 1905 by Fr. Tiburcio Fernandez. [2] In March 1907, Kabankalan was separated formally from Ilog as an independent municipality through the Philippine Commission's Act 1612. [3] The present church structure was built and inaugurated in December 1935 by Fr. Felipe Lerena.

Robert Treat Center. The Robert Treat Center is an office and hotel complex in Newark, New Jersey, United States. It is named for Robert Treat, who founded the city in 1666. One building originally opened as the Robert Treat Hotel in 1916. The landmark was later converted to an office building after the construction of a newer hotel next to it.
