Shoreditch is an area in London, England and is located in the London Borough of Hackney alongside neighbouring parts of Tower Hamlets, which are also perceived as part of the area due to historic ecclesiastical links. There is an electoral ward called Haggerston within the borough. Haggerston historically formed part of the Metropolitan Borough of Shoreditch. In 1965, Shoreditch became part of the new London Borough of Hackney.
