The National Register recognizes places of national, state, or local historic significance across the United States. [1] Out of over 90,000 National Register sites nationwide, [ 2 ] Oregon is home to over 2,000, [ 3 ] and 86 of those are found in Yamhill County.
A post office called Yorktown was established in 1881, and remained in operation until 1884. [2] Besides the post office, Yorktown had a station on the Marietta and Pittsburgh Railroad. [ 3 ]
Now part of The Westland Historic Village Park, the central portion of the house was built in the 1850s. The two wings were added in the 1930s.
