Guy Deutscher (19 March 1936 – 4 May 2024) was an Israeli experimental physicist who specialized in solid-state physics, low-temperature physics, and superconductivity. He was a Professor Emeritus of Physics at Tel Aviv University .

The Isaac and Tamara Deutscher Memorial Prize is an annual prize given in honour of historian Isaac Deutscher and his wife Tamara Deutscher for a new book published in English "which exemplifies the best and most innovative new writing in or about the Marxist tradition." It has been ongoing since 1969.
After volume 85, the series took a two-and-a-half-year hiatus due to the sale of the Stratemeyer Syndicate to Simon & Schuster. At this point, book packager Mega-Books took over the series, and hired different ghostwriters for the job (many of whom are still unknown).
