Seán Daniel Treacy (22 September 1923 – 23 March 2018) was an Irish Labour Party politician who served as Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann from 1973 to 1977 and 1987 to 1997. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Tipperary South constituency from 1961 to 1997.

The club was founded in 1973 and was named for IRA combatant Seán Treacy (1895–1920). [2] They won a minor title in 1975 and reached the final of the Armagh Senior Hurling Championship in 1977 and 1978. They have won seven junior titles as well. It is the only hurling club in Lurgan. [3]
