Thanks Carmello, I too love the Helvetica Font & appreciate you sharing the link. Back in the 90's I had an HP Laser Printer (I cannot even remember all of the supporting software that came with it), but if offered a wealth of fonts & helvetica was my fave. Thanks again.
Solved: I downloaded Helvetica Bold font from this site. In sqare bracket it says that [Free Sans Bold] . The name added to Ps is FreeSans .
The issue is not only that of installing a font, but you also need to license the font. Helvetica is not one of the Windows system fonts. Microsoft made a decision back in the early 1990s to license and bundle the Arial typeface family from Monotype as a metrics-compatible “workalike” font to substitute for Helvetica.
To add some things: [1] You need the font files for Helvetica Neue. [2] The InDesign application can also see and access font files that are stored in InDesign's application's Fonts folder. [3] An individual document can see and access font files in a Document fonts folder that is positioned in the same folder the document is also positioned.
I need to add Helvetica Font text to book covers for a client using Photoshop CC 2021 Windows 10 Pro. The font isn't on Windows. Is there a site where I can purchase this font? The client is a Mac user, I am a Windows user. Let me know if I can get Helvetica working/installed for use on Photoshop. Thanks!!

To directly respond to your question, there is no “free” version of Helvetica bundled with Windows and the version of Helvetica bundled with MacOS is a .dfont variant of TrueType Helvetica that may problematic for publishing use. Otherwise, Helvetica is a trademarked, commercial font.
Oh, one more, just as ppi and dpi get interchanged wrongly, people misuse the word font. A font is one typeface, one type style, and one type size, so 12 pt Helvetica Bold is not the same font as 10 pt Helvetica Bold. If the metal block goes in a different case, it is a different font.
Type 1 fonts are an integral part of both the PDF and PostScript specifications. Thus, the 2023 announcement doesn't affect Acrobat (or Reader)!!! The Helvetica font is not and never has been supplied with any version of Office or Windows. If you have Helvetica installed on one system, you must have gotten it from some other software package, such as the installation CD of a printer. If you feel. you have a valid license for the font, you can copy it from one computer to the other.
I have a new laptop which runs Windows 10. Some of my indesign work was completed on a mac which has the Helvetica family of fonts. Are these available in Adobe for Windows 10?
