Potato Creek State Park is an Indiana state park located in north-central part of the U.S. state of Indiana about 12 miles (19 km) southwest of South Bend.Potato Creek is open year-round and supports various activities and facilities, including fishing, hiking, camping and mountain biking.
Howe is located in northern LaGrange County at the intersection of State Road 120 and State Road 9.It is the principal community in Lima Township. It is 2 miles (3 km) south of Interstate 80/90 (the Indiana Toll Road), and 5 miles (8 km) north of LaGrange, the county seat.
State Road 9 in the U.S. State of Indiana is a long north–south state highway in the eastern portion of Indiana. Its southern terminus is near Columbus at State Road 46, and the northern terminus is at the Michigan/Indiana border between Howe, Indiana, and Sturgis, Michigan, where it continues as M-66.
The main campground offers several waterfront campsites. The other campground is west of the lake and is designed for larger recreational vehicles. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has announced plans to drain the lake in the fall of 2008 in order to repair the dam and to eradicate gizzard shad which are detrimental to the fishery.
